“I've had a storage unit here for around a decade straight now give or take a year (currently have 2) and there's really been no issues.. nothing stolen, nothing damaged so far... Had 2 billing issues I can think of that happened by having Autopay set up.. One time when money times were tough for me shortly after my divorce I had my bills set up around my checks coming in and they took my automatic payment about 2 days early which overdrew my account because I didn't have the money in there yet, (since it wasn't due yet) making me get like an extra $30 or $35 overdraft fee tacked on- (I remember I was NOT happy about that one... I did call and complain in office- even though there's nothing that could be done at that point. It's been years ago now, this was back around when I first got the storage unit. And another time I had a 3rd storage unit for a very short time, after closing it in office I was charged for it again the following month.. which they corrected immediately and refunded me when I pointed it out, this just happened recently and thankfully I had the money now so the extra charge didn't overdraw me. Both of which I feel WOULDN'T have been issues if I just chose to pay my bill in person every month instead of having autopay set up. So keep those things in mind if you live paycheck to paycheck and may not always have the extra money in your account to cover issues like these.. you may be charged overdraft fees through your bank costing you more for no reason... The other issue I had was 1 unit i got had a leaking problem, I told them about it and they immediately issued me a different unit- problem solved. Now, my biggest complaint is the bugs out here are BAD, if you're not getting bombarded with the "in-season" stuff like stink bugs invading your storage unit, or dealing with the Clover mites literally EVERYWHERE around your door around the month of May, then you're dealing with the obsessive about of spiders invading your units. Like I have spider webs everywhere...I HATE IT! But I THOUGHT it was normal... And how i realized it's not is because I just recently had my father pass away and I was left in charge of taking care of his belongings. He had 2 storage units himself in Fort Wayne and when I was cleaning them out they were relatively clean of bugs, there were no spiders or spider webs, No mites (even though all unit doors was covered in them back here at Ness) and I only found 3 stink bugs while cleaning it out. And one of those was dead on the ground like it had been stepped on. I can't go through anything in my storage unit without seeing one. And my dad's stuff had been sitting for over a year... So either the Ness storage units are located in an area that's bad for bugs, or just the City of Huntington is bad for bugs as opposed to Fort Wayne. But other than the bank issues and the 1 time leak (and the constant bugs) those are the only issues I've had in 10 years..”
